Alkaline Earth Metals3:46 Minuten
The six alkaline earth metals, beryllium, magnesium, calcium, strontium, barium and radium are in the second main group of the periodic table. Alkaline metals are the most reactive elements and alkaline earth metals follow just after them. All alkaline earth metals are made up of two reactive outer electrons and, with the exception of beryllium, react quickly with water and air. Alkaline earth metals can therefore not be found in their elemental form in nature, but only as compounds, predominantly in the Earth's crust. This film shows the properties and reactions of alkaline earth metals in different experiments.
